Okay unemployed people of Marion Tech and beyond, NOW is the time to act. According to news reports, on Tuesday, July 20, 2010, the US Senate may be voting on extension of Unemployment Compensation Benefits. Currently, there are over 2 MILLION Americans that have exhausted their benefits and the number keeps growing every week!!! DO NOT sit and complain but take action. Call your Ohio State Senator and voice your opinion. At this point, no one is going to help you but yourself. I’m even going to make this easy for you. Here are the contact numbers and websites for either phone or email submission. I know that if you’re reading this, you have access to a computer. Just remember, if you don’t take a stand, you have given up the right to complain!!

My letter to George:
Since you no longer feel the need to be respectful of myself and fellow unemployed Ohioans, I no longer am obligated to address you as Senator Voinovich. Your stellar record of disloyalty to the very hard working and now unemployed people of Ohio is absolutely unbelieveable. You have absolutely no idea what it is like to worry, even while sleeping, about how the bills will get paid or where the next meal is going to come from. Praying for rain so that the garden won’t die has become a daily routine. It’s not like this is a life-style for most of us. I, myself, have worked hard in factories for the last 28 years. The pay was good and so was the economy but now all of that is gone. I am currently attending school to obtain a degree in Medical Assisting but, like everything else, that may also end abruptly. No unemployment compensation, no food, no gas, no electricity, no house, NO SCHOOL!!! Forgive me if I sound a bit “livid”. I usually am an extremely loving and calm person but, you and the party to which you belong have now not only attacked me and fellow Ohioans but, you have attacked my family. You have no problem shoveling out tons of cash to foreign countries but absolutely NONE to your own. Please, reconsider your vote on HR4213 not just for the sanctity of the “party” but also for the citizens of Ohio.
